Another Year for Firsts

One thing I love about a new year is that novel feeling that comes with it. We start saying (or tweeting) things like first movie I watched this 2013, first concert attended this 2013 and first date this 2013. Among the things I'd like to show you guys these coming days are my first day in fashion school, first photoshoot for styling class and my twenty-first birthday. That's a lot of firsts! But before that, lets take a look at the first taping for 2013.

A few months have passed since I started co-styling the TV show, Fashbook, with Melai and every taping always holds something different. During this shoot, Solenn wasn't around so Maxene Magalona was our host that day. It was my first time styling another celebrity aside from Solenn Heussaff and it was a great learning experience.

Another first were these outfit photos, which Melai & I never got to take whenever we were styling. Luckily, we had Frances with us that day. It was actually her first time interning and it was such a treat to have another person around. The work became less strenuous and I have her to thank for most of the BTS photos on this post. So, if you're reading this, thanks Frances! Melai & I miss you already!

Apart from the spiels, there was a "Sugod Closet" segment to be taped that day. It's a segment where Solenn raids a celebrity/personality's closet. This was another first for me. I've never been to a Sugod Closet taping. It was such a treat to meet Barbie Almalbis and step inside her home in Marikina.

Here's a little trivia about Ms. Barbie that I learned that day: She owns one pair of heels. A 1-inch wedge in this neutral color. Most of her shoes are boots and rubber shoes. Her favorite is actually a sparkly pair of silver Pony sneakers.

There are so many firsts in this post. It makes me realize how many precious memories I have and how blessed I truly am. Some of the things I discovered, I had only realized upon writing this post too. It's funny how different you see a situation the second time you ponder upon it.

So if you think your life is so boring or uneventful, take a look at it again and see how many beautiful things have happened in your life. Us humans are guilty of rushing everything that we don't have the time to appreciate the things that really matter.
