Forever 21 long-sleeved top | Bershka distressed denim shorts
In the four years I spent studying in the University of Santo Tomas, the Paskuhan experience has been different year after year despite the enduring tradition of the booths, the parade and the fireworks. This year came with an entirely new perspective. It was the first time I was going to Paskuhan as one of UST's alumni.
The Parade: Peter Pan & Wendy. This year's theme was Disney.

I can still remember what I wore during the past four Paskuhans clearly. They were different from one another but had one prevailing theme: dressed for the holidays. Maybe it was the rare occasion of being out of our white uniform that made me anticipate to dress up at this event. Or maybe it was simply because of Paskuhan.
This time, I decided to break the streak by going for something comfy and casual. You can never go wrong with a white shirt and denim shorts. Lazy dressing 101. Since I was keeping it simple, I decided to go for edgier shoes. This thrifted pair fits the bill and is super comfy - perfect for walking around the booths!

The Booths: Everything from food, clothes to souvenirs.

This was the first time I was early for Paskuhan. Since classes ran late, we would usually join the festivities towards the late afternoon. But now that I've graduated, I was there as early as one in the afternoon - three hours early for the parade, which I never got to fully watch when I was still studying. (You can see more of the parade photos on Gazillionth Thought Bubble.)
You could say three hours is a long wait but killing time comes easy when you're with good company. The different sets of people I'm with each Paskuhan is probably the biggest reason why each one is different. But people come and go. They leave us lessons learned that makes us better people in the process.

Ironically, this was only my third time to watch the Paskuhan concert. I guess I'm not really a big fan of the bands. What I love about it though, is sitting on the grass with good friends having conversation. My best friends might've not all been present and I can't really explain why but I was perfectly content sitting on that sheet of newspaper that night.
Happy Holidays everyone!
